It seems like a lovely dream: just eat lovely delicious fruit as your only food and all your health problems will disappear. Eliminate "mucus" and you will eliminate your health problems. At least that is what advocates of a fruitarian diet say.
The harsh reality for anyone who has tried this type of diet is much different. Unfortunately, the body cannot survive on just fruit. The first problem is the excessive sugar intake. For an acne sufferer, and really for anyone, this is a disaster. Too much sugar, in any form, causes very bad problems in the body. You will get cavities, bones will start to weaken (as the body leaches from them for nutrients) , muscle is lost and you will become weak.
The second problem is the impossibility of eating enough required nutrients. Your main loss is the lack of quality fats. This is why fruitarians start consuming avocados by the truckload as they try to nourish a body on their minimal fat contents.
Usually people who try a diet like this are desperate for a solution to their health problems. This type of "diet cure" also is based on some truth which makes it deceptive. The truth is that a juice fast for a short period of time can be very beneficial for the body as it does rapidly eliminate waste. I don't recommend this, but there are many resources available online for those interested.
The problem comes when people try to make this a full time diet. Avoid the fruitarian diet, it causes problems very quickly and if sustained for a period of time (say, months) there can be troubling long term effects.
