The Risks and
Side Effects of Prescription Acne Medications
Vitamin E is often the vitamin called upon for skin healing. Is it then the best vitamin to take for acne? Unfortunately, Vitamin E supplementation is not going to help much with achieving clear skin. Let's take a look at why.
First, the standard diet in America often already has enough Vitamin E in it to meet the body's needs. Vitamin E supplementation would then just be in excess. And unfortunately the body does not use excess Vitamins to heal, it simply eliminates them out of the body. The fact of the matter is that Vitamins alone are not going to heal skin. The other dietary factors need to be addressed.
It is true that Vit E is an important vitamin. In fact if someone who has never supplemented with Vitamin E starts taking it, they might see some temporary relief in their acne. However, it tends to be short lived and usually if you stop taking it when it stops working and then try it again later it probably won't work as well the second time.
Overall, supplementing with vitamins is largely a waste of time for the acne sufferer. They would be much better off obtaining quality foods and certain whole food supplements that we recommend rather than individual vitamins that will just be a waste of money. Spend your money on quality, not a large quantity of supplements.
